Description:The Metropolitan District Commission (MDC) is a non-profit municipal organization that provides potable water, sewerage services and other environmental services to the Hartford, Ct. metropolitan area. We are accepting resumes for the position of Staff Engineer 2.
This is very responsible full performance public works professional engineering work involving the technical assistance and support of utility operations and maintenance. Work involves responsibility for the development of engineering solutions to technical and operational problems. Duties include analyzing and solving a wide variety of production, processing, operations and other technical problems in civil, mechanical and electrical systems. This position also has the responsibility for making very difficult technical, operating and maintenance systems decisions. This work requires that the employee have considerable knowledge, skill and ability in civil, mechanical and electrical engineering as applied to utility systems and technologies.

Qualifications A bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university in civil, mechanical or electrical engineering plus four years of progressively responsible experience in public works or utility engineering. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Salary range is $66,631 to $86,621 plus an excellent benefits package including vacation, sick and holiday pay, health and dental insurance, and pension plan.
